Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal data in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
Last updated: 4 August 20261Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Me-Tech Solution Sdn Bhd ("we", "us", "our"), as the data user under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 ("PDPA"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data through the RoJerbro mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you consent to the practices described here, in accordance with the PDPA's Notice and Choice Principle.
2Personal Data We Collect
Depending on how you use the App, we collect:
- Account data — email address, password (stored in hashed form), nickname, date of birth, and phone number you provide on registration or profile update, or your Google account's name/email/account identifier if you use Google Sign-In;
- Profile photo — the avatar image (and a derived thumbnail) you choose to upload;
- Location data — your device's GPS coordinates, used to show nearby alerts on the map and to tag the location of an alert you submit;
- Alert content — the photo, message, category, and location of any traffic alert you submit, and any comment you post on an alert;
- Vehicle data — your vehicle's registration plate number, model, colour, brand, and any photo you attach to it;
- Messages — the content of private in-app messages you exchange with other users;
- Feedback — the name, email, and message you submit through the "Contact Us" form;
- Device/technical data — a device identifier used to deliver push notifications, and standard technical data such as app version and, via normal server request logging, your IP address.
Account data, location, and the content you actively submit (alerts, photos, vehicle records, comments, messages) are provided directly by you; we do not purchase personal data from third parties.
3How We Use Your Personal Data
We use personal data to:
- create and manage your account, and authenticate you (including via Google Sign-In);
- operate the App's core features — showing you and other nearby users relevant traffic alerts, displaying your submitted alerts/comments/vehicle records, and enabling in-app messaging;
- operate the double-parking feature, which uses a vehicle's plate number to notify the registered owner that their vehicle may be causing an obstruction;
- screen submitted photos and text for content that may violate our Terms & Conditions (see "Automated Processing & AI Features" below);
- send you service-related communications (such as email verification, password reset, and, where you have opted in, promotional material);
- respond to feedback or support requests you submit; and
- maintain the security, integrity, and proper functioning of the App, and comply with our legal obligations.
Providing account data and, where relevant, location/vehicle data is necessary to use the corresponding features of the App; if you do not wish to provide it, the affected feature (for example, the map view, or vehicle records) will not be available to you, though you may still be able to use other parts of the App.
4Automated Processing & AI Features
Certain features send a photo and/or text you submit (for example, when creating an alert, adding a vehicle, or reporting a double-parked vehicle) to a third-party AI service to suggest form details (such as a description or matching category) and to automatically screen alert and comment text for content that may be spam, abusive, or otherwise inappropriate. This processing is automated; where a submission is flagged, it is not automatically removed, but is retained with a flag for our attention as described in our Terms & Conditions.
5Disclosure of Personal Data
We disclose personal data to the following classes of recipients, only as necessary for the purposes above:
- Other users of the App — your nickname and avatar are visible to other users, as are any alerts, comments, and messages you choose to submit or send; a vehicle's plate number is used (but not otherwise displayed) to route a double-parking notification to its registered owner;
- Service providers acting on our behalf — an AI content-analysis provider (for the automated processing described above), an email-delivery provider (to send account and notification emails), and Google (to verify Google Sign-In);
- Our feedback/support system — if you submit the "Contact Us" form, its contents are forwarded to our internal support ticketing system;
- Legal and regulatory bodies — where required by Malaysian law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of RoJerbro, our users, or the public (for example, in response to a lawful request from the Royal Malaysia Police or another authority).
We do not sell personal data, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their own independent marketing purposes without your consent.
6Cross-Border Data Transfer
Some of the service providers listed above (including the AI content-analysis provider, the email-delivery provider, and Google) may process data on servers located outside Malaysia. Where personal data is transferred outside Malaysia, we take reasonable steps to ensure it continues to receive a comparable standard of protection, consistent with the PDPA.
7Data Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access or disclosure, including encrypted transmission between the App and our servers and hashed storage of your password. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterwards where necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. When you delete your account through the App, we deactivate it and remove or anonymise personal data associated with it, except where retention is required by law or for the purposes described above.
9Your Rights Under the PDPA
Subject to the PDPA, you have the right to:
- request access to the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of personal data that is inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated;
- withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal data (which may limit or disable features that depend on it); and
- opt out of receiving promotional material, including by disabling the promotional-material option in your profile.
You can access and update most of your account information (nickname, date of birth, phone number, avatar, promotional preference) and delete your account directly within the App, under Profile. For any other request, or if you have a question or complaint about how we handle your personal data, contact us using the details in "Contact Us" below.
10Children's Privacy
The App is intended for users aged 18 and above and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
11Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App or applicable law. Where a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, via an in-app notice) before it takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
